Frequently Asked Questions
After a hand injury on the football field in the 1990s, Cutters' founder had to wear a glove if he was to continue playing ball. Not satisfied with any available football gloves on the market, he came across industrial gloves used by glass handlers and cutters. These gloves did the trick – they not only allowed him to finish the season, but led to years of research to develop the concept into high-performance sports gloves. This was the launching pad for Cutters Gloves.
What is C-TACK™ Performance Grip Material?C-TACK™ Performance Grip Material is the only one where the grip is part of the material. This innovation not only creates a strong grip, but a grip that is self-restoring and performs in all weather conditions. When your Cutters Gloves get dirty, simply machine wash or wipe down with a damp towel and your grip will be restored.
We are the pioneers of performance grip material. Although other companies have attempted to meet our standards, they don’t match our grip, durability, or overall performance. Our technology is a trade secret.

Do gloves have to be gray?Only for college football. For high school football, and for baseball at any level, gloves can be any color you would like.
How should I wash my Cutters Gloves? Most of our gloves are machine washable and dryable. We actually recommend washing them regularly, which will clean the C-TACK™ and continually restore the grip. Machine wash on cold water cycle with non-bleach detergent. To remove odor, we suggest washing with a tablet of anti-bacterial denture cleanser.
Only styles that incorporate leather, such as the 017LC, 018, 018P, 019X, and 019T, are not machine washable.
How can I restore the grip on my Cutters Gloves or C-TACK™ Grip Tape?During a practice or game, simply wipe them down with a damp cloth. The grip will be restored. You can also machine wash your Gloves and Grip Tape to restore their grip.
How will Cutters perform in wet or cold weather?C-TACK™ performs well in all weather conditions, including wet weather. The key is not to have surface water build up. So, if it is raining hard, shake the surface water off the gloves. If your gloves get muddy, wipe them down for the grip to be restored. In cold weather, C-TACK™ performs well – it will not harden.
How are Cutters different from other gloves? We are glove experts. Cutters are crafted from the highest quality materials for the best performance and durability. Our gloves are also made with our exclusive C-TACK™ Performance Grip Material, where the grip is part of the material – not a post application. Other gloves may look similar, but other companies typically use a silicon application on their gloves that results in an inferior grip, and a grip that will peel off, will wear out more quickly, and does not self-restore.
